Aims of workshop:
- to understand the importance of ecology and recycling
- to enjoy and take part in rhythmic and dramatic storytelling
- to learn funky rhythmic patterns on junk instruments
- to identify the importance of each rhythmic part within an ensemble
- to respond in movement to rhythmic music
- to make costumes and instruments out of recycled materials
- to gain confidence in group and solo performance
- to develop listening and improvisation skills
- to experience and understand the skills needed in working as part of a team
Workshop activities include:
Costume making, junk instrument making, set design, samba drumming, sound effects and musical game sessions, sound scaping and dramatic storytelling. The workshop culminates in a multi-rhythmic performance.

Note: This workshop was designed primarily for schools however we can adapt to suit community / youth groups, summer schools, festivals or private functions.
