On the 1st March 2008, Shipley Town and Kirkgate Studios and Workshops celebrated the unveiling of the town’s first piece of community public art, “The Shipley Shopper.” Rhythm Kitchen was asked to provide street entertainment for the young people of Shipley. Ben, a microscopic animal enthusiast took to the town centre streets and introduced passers by to the Bradfordian pavement weevil, the lumblut chiddler and the gargantuan snazztackler.
The intermittent downpours on the day certainly didn’t deter Ben’s adventurous investigations. They attracted lots of inquisitive folk who spent time examining his specimens and inspecting his delicate jars and containers. |
